G'day can anyone tell me if the Germans used the Opel Blitz radio truck in north africa??

Since it was classified as a standard type Kfz305, I'd say it was almost certain it was. The Opel Blitz was produced throughout the war. I seem to remember the old Italaeri truck bodied kit had a load of DAK transfers with it, including 164th Inf Div (mot), & Brigade Ramke.

I have seen pics of it in Africa, Just cannot remember which book.

They Definately did. But don't take my word for it!!
According to the biography or Hans Von Luck, the Recon. commander under Rommel...
"We went to the command car, a converted Opel 'Blitz' truck. ...all vehicles were fitted with special oil filters against the dust. Many of the trucks had treadless tires, so they left no distinctive track in the sand."
This happened in April, 1942. So...you may need to alterations to make it a "desert capable" Opel, but they certainly had em!
