Its very rare that a tackle armour but this one was bought for me about two years ago so i thought i ahd better get it done and keep a family member happy,as i don't own a spray gun i stayed away from complicated camo and went for Winter white,i saw a pic once of a Tnk crew throwing buckets of whitewash over the armour and speading it out with mops,so i thought i would try something similar,i laid down the sandy yellow colour in Humbrol Matt all over and when dry i crushed and powdered some tailors chalk mixed it with water to make a runny paste and poured it all over the Marder, some bits of the mixture are thin and some thicker and it looks bloody awfull, but when dry you get this whitewash effect, then it just a matter of rubbing down to Dunkelgelbe,i used a brush for this.At this stage to weather some of the nooks and crannies i used brown pastel chalk, crushed and worked it in with a stiff brush, when all this was brushed off and settled i sprayed it all over with Satin varnish, when spraying i did it at maximum distance to avoid pooling and shine, the other bits of weathering were done in W&N oils, such as Burnt Sienna for rust, and Burnt Umber for oil stains. The model itself is by Tamiya,Marder 111 M,the figs are Revell, the ground work is made up from loose grass from Woodland scenics mixed with tea leaves bound together with white glue.
