Here is my recent work German 1/35 Tiger I Initial produktion.

I've used some extra parts and Pe sets.

I am working on the same kit and you are ahead of me. It took me a lot of time sanding the barrel. In hind sight, may be I should go for an aluminium one like you. I am busy cutting off the front fenders in an attept to replace it with Eduard PE fender. Hard work but lots of fun.
Just out of curiosity, why do you keep some sections of the original side fenders if you have the PE replacement already? Assuming you are using the vinyl tracks, did you use CA to stick the tracks on the wheels?
I still haven't decided whether mine is going to be Tank S45 or 323. Can't wait to see it painted.

Very nice looking Tiger, but it is not an Initial, that is an early. The Initial did not have air cleaners, nor did it have track guards and the stowage box on the turret is the wrong type for an initial.
How are you going to paint this, Panzer Grey or Dark Yellow? Maybe Dark Yellow with a green camo pattern?
Will be interesting to see how it turns out

Sorry for thats my writing mistake it's not an initial version it's a early version.
At the first picture seen orange coloured pe set is not belong to this kit ( again my mistake it's for 1/48 scale ) so that reason I do not have side fenders in pe but produced them of copper plate.
Tracks are replaced with Academy made aftermarket individual tracks.
I plan to paint it panzer gray with winter dabbed white.

If that fender is built from scratch, that is working out quite nicely indeed. Let's see it painted up.
With that 1/48 PE fender in stock , you have all the excuses to buy another Tiger for your collection now.

thats a nice looking tiger. I can see you already had intentions to add after market parts seeing as you had it all purchased before you started.
I just love the look of the barrel!
Well done!

In some model models I love to add some extra parts and detail sets some models really doesn't need. In general I replace cylndyrical parts with tubes or I buy the barrels. I built side fenders of copper plate and other orange packed Pe set used in Tamiyas 1/48 tiger. ( you might see in

)
I collected the all part from the origin which is cheapest If you look at my nick you will understand how :-)
And now some more pictures.

I reworked grips and roughed the surface of the panzer and I did some places ,with rotary tool, are injured by shell. So I want my Tiger at the end of the winter tired but not broken.

For the weather beaten effect, first I painted with Tamiya german gray then I applied mr neo masking sol to the areas for larger weared off places. I painted again with tamiya flat white, after dried I peeled off the masked areas. As a finishing touch I did lots of tiny scratches with tweezer over the white, for most used areas

Looks great! Very well done. My only suggestion would be to dirty up the road wheels. Seems most photos of winter vehicles I've seen have very dirty, muddy running gear. This also adds contrast to the vehicle and provides great balance to the whitewashed upper part of the vehicle.
