Hi all
Thought i would do a bit more on Burnsides Bridge from the great help i have had off other members reading books and looking at pics,i started making the wooden snow covers that were on the top of the bridge walls at the time of the battle.
I have used some artistic licence with regard what sort of damage there would have been, however from reading up there was an awful amount of fire directed at the Bridge during the inital assault by the Union troops.
I will create other damage from canon and rifle i have decided on the set of figs from Shenandoah Minitures the Union soldiers charging with th flag and the CSA figs fireing from behinde the split rail fence plus other figs.Any ideas and feed back would be great Cheers Chris

Looking good so far. Do the face of the stones look too smooth to you? I like the destroyed wood cap.

Chris, take Wood Dough the peanut butter lookin stuff for filling counter sunk nail holes. Schmear it on with a palatte knife, take an old stiff brush and whisk away the excess, it also fills the mortar seams nicely. It leaves a nice rough texture as seen here on smooth cork.
Sorry couldn't resist, thats just Jake's catch we limited out today !!!!!!
A little soak in cooking Sherry and apple cider vinegar, garlic [ on the heavy side ], red onion, diced green, red and yellow peppers, a sprinkle of Adobo [ gotta have my Goya fix ] and bread crumb and fry, serve over rice ----- heaven.
