I want to make the stone work more textured Cheyanne surggested Wood Doe i have spackle would that have the same effect as Cheyanne explained

Yes. Add some white glue as well to give good adhesion. Paint this onto each brick. For the texture, make an oblong ball out of tin-foil and push it into the setting spackel. If you have lots of small un-realistic peaks (wait until it sets more), or knock them off with a big file, sanding at different angles.
