I know I have asked this before, but whats the color of the glass in the windows of the abrams, and also whats the color of the Range finder's glass. Also is the USMC's verson come with the smoke lanuchers loaded, or are they capped, and what color would they be as well. [8D]

Hello Cam,
You can have a reddish or a green type tint based on what version of a vision block the vehicles has. There are tanks running around that still have a yellow tint as well. This was a result of testing conducted for the laser reflective surface and what filter would work best.

To replicate the anti-laser coating, I first paint the lenses black, then thinly coat with clear red (stoplight red), and then a couple coats of gloss. This gives them depth and the color changes from black to red to purple depending on the angle, just like the real lenses. The Gunners Primary Site lenses (when looking from the front are clear on the left (looks black) and the thermal sight on the right, looks purpleish. I paint the left black, and mix some clear read and clear blue for the right. Heavy gloss on both and you should be set.

In the Tamiya kit, the smoke launchers are capped with the black rubber protective caps. The actual smoke grenades would stick out of the launchers and are slightly thinner tubes. The grenades are a pale green color. The new Academy kit is the only one to come with smoke grenades for the launchers.

Cam,
Gino's system works, which essentially the same way I do it.
