Hi All,

My first attempt to post my model on the net. I apologize for the bad photos. I spent about 30 hours on this tiger with FM tracks, hand made net, wire towcable with butterfly wingnuts, Cavalier zimmerit, wire the lights, and "de-shine" the decal. Then oil wash/whether the whole thing.

With my limited reference, I try to make it as accurate as possible.

Please give this rookie a point or two!!

Thanks,

WC

Rookie? Hmmmm...I doubt that... . You seem to be on the right track. In my opinion, all it lacks is a little more weathering. I just like my tanks dirty...weather beaten sort of way. What I'm not sure about is the color of the hatches, I think they should be the same color as the hull (dark yellow?)...somebody correct me....

Cheers

Thank you warthog!

This is my third model attempt after a decade of leaving the hobby behind (I had some model experience back in college). So I still consider myself a rookie! There are still alot to be learn from all the modeler from this esteem forum.

Yes the hatch... I always thought they are white. Then again, if not, I will have to go back and repaint the sucker.

Anyone else have more photo reference on this tiger? I read that this is the only tiger of this version saw combat. Is it true?

Greatly appreciate your input!

The hatches are white, it is correct.

This type of version didn't saw action. This is the Porsch version, the other tiger version saw action.

This was just a prototype, there were two tigers desighned and the best one saw action.

I like your camo, very nice... a rookie?? you kiddin' me

I have the History of the 653 & 654th Panzerjager Abteilungs. One of them received the Tiger(P) and used it as a command vehicle in 1944. When I find the book (I just started to unpack my reference books) I'll scan some and send them.

The Tiger(P) was used for about six months and listed as lost., I don't know if it got stuck and not retreived, broke down and was destroyed or was lost to the Russians.

Excellent work on your VK4501 Tiger P, Ben. You did an outstanding job on that camo scheme ! I like how you did the mesh screening on those rear engine vents. Zimmerit looks awesome, and its good to see you used the Cavalier set

Maybe some more weathering, but other than that, it looks fine

Keep up the good work, and post some more pics of your work

Cheers !!

Well, Benjamin, I just caught you in telling a lie! That is not the work of a rookie. :-) :-) :-) :-) :-) :-)

I love your Tiger. Very nice paint job, and the photos are not bad either.

Cheers

The real thing was fitted with an escape hatch in the turret right rear instead of the pistol port
. It seems this turret was fitted before it was issued.

Erik, um... yeah about the rookie thing... well I just restarted the hobby so I felt I'm a bit behind with all the new techniqes and product infos... plus, I really did lost some of my touch in my skill. However with your encourge words I feel that I can show you more of my crap. :-)

Robert, about the weathing... I'm not really a fan of "dirty tank". I'm more fan of the Greenland/Wells' technique. So I try to be subtle on the weathering. Just hightlight some of the details. I donno, just a personal reference I guess.

You can see more of my junks at my gallery.

Mkenny, yes I realized that AFTER I built the bloody beast. Sigh... I was hoping you would not notice... Now because of you I have to go back and re-do the part... after I finish all the new tanks I just bought!

Again, thank you all for the valuable input! This is a great forum.
