Hey folks,

I finally learned how to post these pics, thanks from the help of several of you, and would like to share my current build for comments. The ammo bin configuration has changed due to the nature of the beast. That was the hardest part to find pics of, but I found it in AFV # 10. Since I have taken these photos, I have completed painting the interior with chipping and weathering. I have to build the ammo bins and finish the gun, but I think it's coming along nicely. I will post some new pics in the next couple of days. All your comments are welcome.

Thanks,
Steve

Hi Steve

Good to see, you've learned to post pictures.

Your very detailed interior looks really good so far.

Little did you know I was one of those following your previous thread trying to learn how to post pictures. Very busy looking interior indeed. Can't wait to see more picture of it.

Perhaps some descriptions about the base kit and the add-ons?!

Oh yeah,

I knew I forgot something. The base kit is the Tamiya Stug III Ausf G. The interior is a resin partial interior kit from TWS. I also have a p.e kit from LionRoar and one from Aber for the exterior. The zimmerit is from cavalier I believe. All I need now is some nice tracks. Probably a set from Modelkasten or Friul. This weekend I'll finish the gun. There is a lot of scratchbuilding to go on that. I have a Jordi Rubio barrel, but in my insanity I decided to use the kit barell??? I'm trying to decide what punch set to get so I can build the ammo bins. Any suggestions here would be appreciated. Other than that the interior is ready to go. I'll take some more pics Friday and post them that evening.

Stay tuned guys,

Steve

Hi

Sweet build. I think the weathering on the interior is well done. Not too much not too little.

Can't wait to see the finished project.

Finally!

The 10.5cm gun is finished. Whew! I had to scratch build the whole gun sight and all its working mechanisms using reference mainly fromToadman's photo cd. If you have never seen one of his cd's, it's worth a look and they are very affordable.
I found the stug cg on Ebay. I also had to purchase a Historex punch set, (been wanting one of these baby's for a long time!), to scratch build the ammo bins. All I have to do now is add a couple of small bins for the primers. The zimmerit is done using a set from Cavalier and filling in with milliput where needed. I can breath easy now and finish the external part of this little gem known as the "Stuh 42".

Enjoy!, and as always, all of your comments are welocme.

Steve

$#%@#%^! Dang! Another awesome modeler out of Texas! Your pre-paint pics made me feel good about TWS as that interior looked very nice and well cast, was it?

Alex,

The TWS partial interior is an old kit. I would say it was less than average. A few of the parts where totally useless while others where ok. As far as resin goes, they could have done better and as far as the instructions/pics, you can forget about that. The pics where so dark, you couldn't make out the smaller details and their locations. This is the first TWS kit I've used, so I cant really comment about their other kits. I did however attempt to contact TWS to ask for better pics. After about 2 mo. I got an email back from them wanting to know if my question was answered. Still no pics. Oh well, I've moved on.
I did however find some good reference material on the Stug, yet limited info on the Stuh. Toadman's cd is a very good reference point on this paticular tank, as it has alot of interior pics. I also bought one of his newest cd's on the T34-76 and 85, but interior shots are limited. I recommend getting one of his cd's for future builds. You just can't beat the quality of pics on your pc versus print!

Thanks for all the comments and I hope I didn't over answer your question,

Steve

Hello!
As the other said your model is marvelous, specially painting the interior, which is just incredible!!!!
But I'm sorry to say you used the wrong gun breech mechanism: this one is for StuK 40, not for StuH 42.
But if you don't care, that's OK

Tada!

Well patient people, here you go!

Finally finally finally...Whee

I've been working on this one awhile. Just have to assemble the Friuls and build a dio for this one, but I cant decide what scene to go with, farm building or city building?

Lets take a vote. I'll post some pics and you tell me what you like.

Thanks to all who stay tuned,

Steve

Well folks the Ayes have it, or should I say the barn has it!

The barn won by a landslide and will be built for the Stuh dio.

For those of you who didn't get to vote, so sorry, better luck next time! And for those of you who did, your dreams will come true or maybe just this one thought!

I will keep you guys posted

Cheers!

Steve
