was the M24 Chaffee used in Papua New Guinea or anywhere in the Pacific at all.

2 chaffee tanks were trialed by the Australian war office in New Guinea at Torokina and in Australia in 1945. I do not think the US used them in this thetre of operations or if they were used in Action at all.

According to the Osprey book, the M-24, was not used in the pacific, but was used in the occupation of Japan,
after the surrender, due to their fragile road system not being able to support heavier tanks.
