Dear All,
this is my first message in this forum...and I will start with a request....
I'm looking for pictures about the german Panther Ausf. A early (D undercarriage + A cupola).
After many years without this fantastic hobby, now I would like to restart to do something, and I decided to make one Panther of I/4regiment that fighetd in Italy during the 1944. I bought the Dragon kit and all the necessary to improve the Model.
But now, I really need your help to find many many pictures that reprodeced this type of Panzer... Could you help me????:-?
Sorry for my bad english and many many thanks in advance for your understanding and cooperation. Waiting your news about ...
Best Regards
Nicola - zac10102004

A decent option for battlefield photos of the Panther is the Squadron Panther in Action book. It has several pictures of vehicles in Italy, some of which appear to be early As. In fact, there are several pictures of the tank that is featured in the artwork on the box of the DML kit. I'm pretty sure those are from Italy. Perhaps the best thing about the book is that it is CHEAP! Another book that may be of use to you (and since you are Italian may be of wider use as well) is Concord's Panzers in Italy 1943-1945.
As far as a technical reference (not so much for battlefield photos though), probably the most highly-regarded book is Thomas Jentz's Germany's Panther Tank: The Quest for Combat Supremacy. That's the book to have for technical questions such as when features were introduced, etc.
Hope this helps!

Hi Steve and Peter,
many thanks for your prompt replies :-) :-) :-)
I bought the "Squadron Signal" book, It is really good!!!
I took information about "Panzer in Italy" too, but at the moment It is too much expensive for my budget (Eur. 70,00)...
I will search the 3rd book now....
Unfortunately often the books have small pictures, not enough to find particulars...
Many thanks for the links too, there are many nice photos!!!
Hoping to write with you again
Bye
Nicola
