Taking a close look at the photos of the Tamiya Panther on the HobbyLinkJapan site it looks as if the late-prod. version includes the option of having the five armoured slats over the engine vents. That is quite a nice detail. I just hope the engine vent screens can be fitted underneath them. Many versions of the Panther G can be built: ordinary engine vents, early exhaust and no chin mantlet; ordinary engine vents, early exhaust and chin mantlet; raised engine vent, early exhaust and chin mantlet; raised engine vent, late exhaust and chin manltet; raised engine vent, late exhaust, chin mantlet and armoured slats for the vents. That should keep the Panther fan busy. Still the matter of the zimmerit to consider though.

Does any AM company offer engine and fan screens for the Panther yet? With Tamiya's Panther and Skybow's Panther and Jagdpanther coming (??), we're going to need a lot of screens!

I wouldn't be concerned, Biggles. Jan at Hauler is very good at having PE sets for Tamiya and SkyBow kits available soon after release. Track48 gets them in quickly. Hauler will most likely have PE for Trumpeter and Bandai as well.
