Hi all

Having had great feed back from the previous posts i have made some changes.

1.I have used the photo provided by Shaun with regard the slope in front of the Union Troops once they had crossed the bridge and were the CSA were dug in.
2. I have raised the level of the bridge as i was not happy with it the way it was ,that then give me the ability to give more depth to the river banks ,as i can see from Cheyenne painting some Union Troops were taking cover there.
Any feed back on the changes would be great.
Cheers Chris

Hi Chris, You are on the right track I think, but the rise looks too steep compared to the pic in the other post, IMHO.

Hi Chris. I think the improvements have made it 100% better. Love the stone colour you have used for the bridge.
The only thing I can advise at this stage, is to fill in the rest of the ground build-up, and place this on a real base. Then frame the sides, with the heights and depths you have decided upon with balsa sheet. This gives you a very professional finish on the base, as well as making it easier in the long run to finish off edges. Looking good.

Hi Frank
Thanks very much for the post and the feed back, iam going to set the base on a some wood then frame it so that it will take a perspex cover in the end.
I agree with the edging do you mean for instance put balsa at the back of the raised CSA positions . and any other raised areas ?.
Cheers Chris

Chris,

I really like the finish on the stones and the change in the elevation.
Keep plugging away and keep the updates coming.

Yes, exactly. Behind any height that runs out to the end of the base. YouŽll find its a lot easier to do it now and fill it out, than after you have your ground work almost complete.
Its a little extra work, but it will add so much to the finished dio. I try to see dios as a slice of ground and seeing the "fillup" to ground level, takes away some of the magic of the finished item. Good luck and keep showing the progress pics.
