Hi all
As you can see from this pic the water running under the bridge is right at the edge of the dio i am going to use resin layers as iam thinking of setting some dead and wounded figures in it.
I intend to make a frame on the edge of the dio to prevent any leakage also that you will get an view from the side through the water.
I want to use a material to make thw corner frame but i want something that will leave a smooth clear finnish and not stick any water experts out there that might be able to advise me .
Cheers Chris
The corner will be to the left of the back of the bridge does not show to well on this pick and will be in effect an L shape and proberly an inch and half deep
On this pick it will be to the left if this makes any sense

I'm not quite sure if the water edge will be exposed from the post - I think it will be.... so I'll answer as if it is.
I use casting resin as water
http://dioramas.armorama.com//features/150 and a 'dam' of sheet styrene from evergreen works. I just cut the sheet a bit taller than the size of water. At the corner I glue the two styrene sheets with CA and reenforce with masking tape. The connection to the base is done with nothing but masking tape. I make sure the base is straight and clean and the styrene is too. Then I just really press the masking tape all the way along the bottom. The casting resin is pretty thick and this is sufficient. At the ground level it'll be trickier. In my dio. Charlie Fox (see gallery) and in another one I actually fashioned a fullsideplate out of sytrene. The entire side front to back was styrene. This did two things. The styrene covering the ground elevation gave me a nice 'finished' look when painted. The edge where it met the water dam gave me a 'connector' edge. I was able to match/marry the 'dam' sheet with the ground sheet and glue and tape there. Then when the water is poured I cut through the dam/ground seam and the sheets pop right of the resin no problems.
If you have a non-styrene ground cover sheet then you will want to cut your 'dam' sheet a bit longer and extend the dam over the edge and tape it very well.
I hope it helps fee free to PM or post questions.

have you thought of lineing your base with aluminum foil ? Shepard Paine recomends it in How to build dioramas.
