Is that the new commander's sight/ 2nd generation FLIR system behind the commander on the Bradley in the picture? I also noticed anti-slip texture on the bolt on blocks on the glacis. That is relatively new, too, isn't it?

Thanks in advance,

Shaun

It is not FLIR (infrared), but rather CITV (thermal viewer). It is standard equipment on A3 variant of Bradley (M2A3 and M3A3). Also note new bigger gunner's sight housing (doghouse).

The non-slip coating on armor blocks is standard feature, but not always as clearly visible as on this photo.

Any clues if Tamiya's M2A2 can be swapped over to become an M2A3? Or any other brands for that matter?

There is nothing to "swap over." You would have to scratch-build the A3 parts and add them to the Tamiya M2A2 ODS to get an M2A3. There are no conversion sets out there that I know of. All the mods are basically on the turret for the A3 version, CITV and larger GPS (Gunners Primary Sight) doghouse. Verlinden does make a set for the ERA blocks though.

Tamiya's is the only 1/35 M2A2 by the way. The others, Academy M2A0 and Minicraft/Lee M2A2, are all poor copies of the Tamiya kit.

Thanks Pawal and Gino.

I noticed the doghouse was different. The anti-slip doesn't show up in the other photos I have unless you really look for it.
The CITV doesn't really look like it would be that hard to cobble together. Mostly straight lines...

Thanks again,

Shaun

As long as you have the dimensions for the CITV, nothing a little stock card and Tenex couldn't build.
