This is my first sherman in about 10 yrs, I've been in the Army for the past 15 yrs so I got side tracked alittle away from the hobby. I'm deployed now and in my spare time to relax I got back into the hobby again. This Sherman is straight out of the box since my supplies are very limited.

Any comments good or bad will be very appreciated......Thanks

Pretty darn good. I learned being deployed helped me brush up on my "basic" skills, lol Where ya stationed at over here?

Very good for OOB. would have mounted the spare roadwheel on the front higher up,off the tranny cover. Maintenance would be cussing having to remove it everytime they had to do tranny work..

Looks pretty good to me...I like the way you chipped the decal. IMHO, just a little more wash for the corners and crevices would make it more beautiful.

Cheers

Nice work! If you're in your home workbench, I'd be scared of what comes out!

A couple of thoughts: the T48 tracks that this kit comes with were rubber faced. I don't know if you meant to have the dust/rust on this. If it's meant to be earth accumulation, then great. If it was meant to be rust buildup, then you might want to change it a bit.

Also there's a slight gap near the rear of your turret.

Nonetheless, great work -- especially the chipped white stars.

Nice Sherman, Mike
Good luck in Camp Bondsteel. Been there twice i -99 to buy Whoppers from Burger King (LoL). Was stationed outside Pristina, and made zero models for 6 months.

Cheers

Thats a very good build.

Ive always wondering how military personnels find the time for modelling. I recalled my army days as constant moving and time was so precious that it was mainly used to catch up on sleep.

If on deployment, i wouldnt be able to fit any model into my duffel bag in fear i may crush it.

How do you guys do it?

Well its not easy....lol. Most of my modeling is done between missions.......and in most cases instead of sleep i work on my models, i'm just dedicated to the hobby. I still do my work for the army very well, and I'm proud of it. but sometimes things can get on your nerve that you need an escape from and this is the way for me.
My dear loving wife sends me the things(bear essentials)that i need to put a model togather, and i ship them back when i'm done.......Shoe boxes and plastic bags do come in handy for shipping.......lol.

Its always nice when your wife supports your hobby like that.

You got any models on display while in deployment?

Hi Mke,

I really like the "griminess" of the tank. Looks like this fellow went to hell and back. Not bad for the first one after 10 years. You still got the "touch" my friend. Keep up the great work!!

Here's one i did acouple of months back after the two tone sherman, just remember that my supplies are very limited and had to work with almost nothing.
I've already shipped this one back home and will refit it with a tarp for the equipment on the back and some other minor work.

I still have some here with me that i haven't shipped home yet, just check out My Photes and you'll see another Sherman, M1 Abrams, M1025 Hummvee(painted just like mine is here) and a Panther did for some grins.

Thanks Mike
