I am a relative newcomer to the site, and while I was looking through some of the campaign postings I noticed reference to the North Africa campaign.
Does anybody know if I have missed it or if it is in the pipeline?
This era is my favorite for modelling and I would be interested in participating in a campaign of this subject, anybody else feel the same?
Cheers

The closest one would be this one
SiyaAfrika
with the exception of one problem though:

Regretably NO WW2 subjects will be permitted! All African history except 1939-1945 will be permitted, thus exposing African history other than WW2...

There was a Mediteranean campaign talked about in the forums this past June but I haven't heard anything more about it. Here's a link.

Thanks for the interest folks.
The North African (Mediterranean) campaign to which you refer is Club Med: Sand, Sea, Sunshine… and Bullets. As the referred link suggests, it is due to start in Q1 2006 - and for this reason it doesn't appear in CCC... CCC only shows campaigns starting in 2005...
Based on the initial interest this campaign should go ahead, although it has been approved in principle...

BTW, if you're interested in something a bit different, join SiyaAfrika, which started in less than 2 months time...

I would be interested in joining too.. What timeframe are you planning? A start in mid-06 would be best for me. I'm starting my compulsory military service in next january, so at least the first half of 2006 is pretty much out of question for me. I can probably get most weekends off, but building models on weekends with a deadline would probably prove challenging.
I think they won't hold me there for a year (at least I have no intentions of sitting there longer than I must) , so the second half would be ideal. Something like June --> September/October (or even longer, long-running campaigns are a good thing) would suit me.
My 2 cents on the subject.
Edit. Just noticed that the campaign runs from May 06 to July 06...

Eetu,
The campaign is to run from 1 March 2006 – 10 July 2006... that particular date is the anniversary of the Sicilian beach landings (Operation ‘Husky’)....
Hope to have you aboard...

I would really like to participate, but I'll be in the army that time.

Btw, would it be possible for me to work with an extended deadline or something? I could probably make some progress while home when I have weekends off, but I'm not sure I would make it on time.

Dude, don't be so sad. I did my national service too in the army. I was an infantry specialist., trust me enjoy your time there. You ll make new friends and it does make you a better person. You ll learn to appreciate the simple stuff in life. Well i don't know how Finland military service is like but i do know Compulsory military service has its pros. Singapore been having National Service since 1967 and we have been doing well since then.
