Where can I get extra basket on the rear of turret of M1A1HA OIF? I've seen some pictures of kits with extra baskets.

Tamiya's M1A2 does not have the Bustle Rack Extension (BRE). It comes with the standard bustle rack that is part of the M1A1 tank design.

There are two types of BREs that were seen in OIF. The Army type, as seen on tanks of 2nd BDE, 3ID that were drawn in Kuwait and the BREs were locally made. The Army type can be found in the latest Dragon M1A1 USMC Baghdad 2003 kit. It is mislabeled as a USMC BRE. The Marine type is quite different and can be found in the "new" Academy M1A1 Iraq 2003 kit. It is very good. It is one of the few good points to the kit. The rest is a rehash of their inaccurate M1A1 and not very usable. Eduard also does a PE USMC BRE as well. As an side note, the Army is now using the USMC style BRE and is ordering them fr their M1A1s as well, so more current Army tanks can be seen with them in Iraq as well.

Here is the USMC version on mine.

ah i misunderstood, i thought he was referring to the main long basket right at the rear of the turret. Not the extension of the existing basket.

Hi
as far as the USMC BRE is concerned you just can scratchbuild it.
Here is mine

I got a doc file from Tankleader with pics and measures, I can pass it on you if needed.

Olivier, could you pass that doc along to me please? I probably won't be building mine for a while but when I do it will be the USMC version of course and it's the Tamiya one so that would help. Not sure how a scratchbuild by me would turn out but with the proper directions, it would make it easier.

Show off!

Just kidding. That's actually very, very nice scratchbuilding you've done there!

If possible could I also get a copy of that document? That scratch work looks very nice. Good job.
