I'm looking for a OIF Hummer with the extra Armor and maybe even a Mk.19 grenade launcher and things like the gun shields and what ever little goodies that they have added to the Hummer. If someone can direct me to web sits that would have these things, I would appreaite it greatly.

Best modern HMMWV model is the Tamiya M1025. It comes with the Mk 19 and an M2 .50 cal. No kit comes with the gun shield and other add-on armor though. Blast Models has a few sets to build the gunshield, add-on armor, and some other things. Should also get the Pro Art SINCGARS since all the HMMWVs kits out there have the old, and no longer used since the mid '90s, VRC-53/ PRC-77 radio set.

Tamiya M1025 HMMWV at PMMS.

Second best is the Academy HMMWVs. They are not totally up to date, have older style mirrors and a few other out of date items. They were the best HMMWVs before the new Tamiya ones.

Tamiya's new Humvee model is the best one in the market:
tam35263

It can be found in greatmodels.com, and the site lists tons of accessories under it. If you want a tow missile one, go for 35267. I think the best accessories for the Humvees are sold by Blast-models.com. I like BL35050K, which has various weapons and a shield. Hope this helps.

And just for Gee Wiz, don't forget them orange Traffic cones, lol. A lot of the QRF trucks have a few of them either hung on the antenna mount or shoved into the brush guard. If ya need any pics drop a line, I got bunches.

And if ya wanna go small, go with the Dragon kits. Heres the one I did a bit ago.

For what you are asking, I would recommend getting the Tamiya M1025 (or M1046 TOW) and the Blast Models Weapon set. Little tricky to build (that is the Blast set; the Tamiya kit is a breeze).

The difference between the M1025 and M1046 kits are minimal as they are essentially the same kit that includes the TOW system and a sprue from Tamiya's OIF Accessory set and can be easily converted using the Blast Models set; plus the rear hatch can be opened up in the M1046 kit.

Also check out Eduards PE set for adding armored doors. And if you want one of the new M1114 uparmored HMMWVs, check out MiG Productions new conversion.

Here is my Tamiya M1025 with the weapons set added as well as some OIF specific parts just to see what you can do with the kit; note the M1046 kit next to it, many more pictures of both in my gallery

Jeff,
Please let me know if I'm wrong but in your last close up pic with the Mk 19's ammo box; well... should the front of the grenades be copper coloured and the cartridge case dark? Or should it be the other way round?

Nope, Jeff has them correct. The cartridge is a bare metal blued, parkerized green, steel color. The shell part is a copper/gold alloy color.

You can see them well here.

Sigh,
Looks like I'll have to get the paintbrush out again.
Thanks for the correction Gino.
