I recently came into posession of a Trumpeter LAV 25 and Trumperer/Pit Road JGSDF type 87 (gotta love raffles). These both use a 25mm cannon. My questions are: are these the same 25mms and will the Barrel Depot M242 replacement work for both? (I know it is OK for the LAV)

David, the pics that I looked at show the Type 87 as having a fluted barrel. The size looks about the same as the 242. Is the Barrel Depot piece fluted or smooth? Just by looking at the pics, I'd say you could cheat and use them even if they aren't the same weapon system as they look very simular. HTH "Q"

Thanks, the ref pics I found show it is fluted, I'll have to crack the plastic wrap open tonight and compare to see if they're the same length. I guess I'll cheat. :-)
