Hi all...been a long time since I sniffed glue! I will start with photos and go from there....
My newest project..." A Bridge to Small"
The idea is the 3 Stooges here, need a map reading 101 course refresher and have managed to get themselves lost on their way back to????
I would like to build the dio without showing how high the bridge is or what it traverses...just show they are at the wrong bridge. Where Im stuck is...Do I have the bridge over hang the dio base? If so how can I go about supporting it? Is there another way?
Any ideas would be greatly appreciated. Thankyou

You could use stiff wire, as opposed to string for the bridge supports and have it hanging over nothingness, off the edge of the dio. Another option is a section of the dio, over the edge, painted black with the bridge supports over/on it.

How about just the 2 sides of the bridge, either stone or cement, with the same material on the ground at the edge of the dio, and move it back towards the jeep a little. Maybe even a downed signpost to add to the confusion. Like to see it when it's done.

I love the idea of a "bridge too small". If you are going to do half a bridge, piano wire is plenty strong too handle the job, you could even add a 4th stooge, Shemp or Joe either one on the bridge looking into ???

Arty..Thanks..that was my first thought..wasnt sure how to secure wood to wire..guessing epoxy.
Arty..I want to stick with the rope bridge build..so staying away from stones or concrete..Ty anyway..thought about it ..rope bridge alone will be a challenge.
Eric. Ty..4th stooge is a great idea...now to find "Shemp"

Hi John, you could use wire, drill into the post and just white glue it in. Then you can dress it up as rope later. You can use real rope for the suspension parts, soak the uprights in white glue and they should be stiff enough.

Following on from Cheyennes idea you can use Fishing Dacron which is hollow & slide this over the stiff wire . It is a multi fibred material and can be painted to suit ? Look forward to seeing the finished product . What a great idea you've come up with !
