I decided to convert the "initial into a S.PzAbtlng 503 Kursk early model. deployed with the Pz lll stowage box. A third company vehicle. These tanks were taken from the 502nd after Leningrad, equipping 1st and 3rd companies of the 503rd for the offensive. Verlinden resin and PE engine and compartment, scratched the rest. Genuine wood jacking block (oh boy!) and a home made tow cable and a boarding lof fresh out of the backyard....heehee...All comments welcome...

Regards,

steve

Your Tiger looks really nice to me and I like your idea of converting it into a S.PzAbtung 503 Kursk early model. However, did notice the rather dark base yellow, maybe its the lighting during the photo shooting.
Anyway, I assume this is the excellent Dragon Initial kit. What are the changes you made to the kit in order to convert it to a 503's one?

The base is standard Tamiya Dunkelgelb. I simply added the scratchbuilt fenders and mudguards, cut from sheet styrene. I probably should have went with the "initial" fenders instead of making hinged ones, I found out later that these vehicles were built too early for the hinged front fenders, oh well, live and learn. These tanks caught my attention in that they were "very early" production, with no feifel air make up(s) and the Pz lll stowage boxes made them a unique subject.
