I think I am having a brain fart, but I am going to ask this question anyway. If a armor piece has the numbers on its side such as 322 for an example what do the numbers mean?

If its on German WW2 armour, 322 would be as follows:
3: Company number
2: Platoon number
2: Vehicle number
It's basically just a way of identifying what unit a vehicle is from.

If there is a 0, that is Company/platoon leaders vehicle.
