I have the Tamiya 1/48 Hetzer I believe it's the early/mid production I have questions regarding the paint scheme Would the camo on them be just the 3 tone scheme? Or could I paint it dark yellow with a red brown camo? Thanks in advance

According to photo captions in Osprey's Hetzer book, this is a late August production, with the exception that the ends of the shuertzen should be bent inwards slightly. Those on the kit are straight, so are presumably 'left overs' from the previous production runs. The current camo depends on whether you want to make a BMM, or a Skoda version. Both used a vaguely similar factory applied, hard-edged, ambush scheme sometimes referred to as a 'cloud pattern' - large brown and green shapes with scalloped edges applied by stencil with an 8 - 10 in. diameter. In 1/48th the scallops should be slightly larger than 1/8th in. diameter. BMM had a repeating pattern of ambush spots, also stencilled on, in small triangle, cresent, and almost rectangle, shapes. Skoda's pattern was similar, but had more yellow base separating the green and brown shapes, and the ambush spots were simply dabbed on with a paint brush.
This may all sound complicated in written form, but if you can find Osprey's 'Jagdpanther 38 'Hetzer' 1944-45' you will see what I mean. Hope this is of some help.
