Hi, I see that on most German tanks, esp. the late war ones, there's a little oblong piece located right above, or in the middle, of the left rear mud fender, and I take it that this this is something of a reflector for the vehicle following. The instructions for the AFV Club's Tiger I late says this is to be a metallic green. Is this correct?
Thanks and take care, Sgirty

Someone else had brought up this item earlier. I think they said that it should be a green color. So I guess the instructions are correct.

the instruction had many errors, dont belive all you find there, the bibliographic research allways help
the piece as i undestand is the stopper located in the rear and is to avoid collisions betwen tanks under rain or fog when they are in a column
the stoppers are red color, the only thing in green color made in glass in a panzer are the visor windows on the copula or turret of the panzer and are green but the stoppers are red ( watch all the panzers in samur books )
hope be helpfull

That thing is box with four lights so following vehicles can guess how far they are away from the vehicle in front of them while driving at night.
There are four lights arranged like this:
OO OO
If you see all four ones you are pretty close.
If you see two lights (because your eye kind of merges the ones that are close together with growing distance) you are further away
If you see one thereīs even more distance between you and the other vehicle (there is some rule how many metres distance you have if you see 4,2 or 1 lights but I canīt remember...)
If I remember correctly those lights were green!
I think here on armorama someone postet a US intelligence report about that system and it said those lights were green, maybe someone could find that report.
PS: Vehicles in museums are no good reference for any colour schemes...

Oh no you canīt compare modern American lights with those WW2 German ones...
The system may be the same, but that doesenīt help for the colour.
