Hi, Matt
I suppose you are thinking about the Tamiya range of RC tanks. I have built the Tiger 1 and are currently working on the Leopard 2 A6, which both are very good kits. The build is pretty much straight forward, and fittings are very good. There has been a development in the tecnical aspect of the models and the A6 is much more "advanced" then the Tiger, but rather similar to the Sherman and Pershing. Which tank you choose depends on how much money you are willing to spend. RC Tanks are much, much more expencive than a RC Car for example.

Cheers
Erik

Take a look on ebay:

http://toys.search.ebay.com/1-16-Tamiya_Tanks_W0QQa10244ZQ2d24QQa23718ZQ2d24QQa25263ZQ2d24QQa39ZQ2d24QQa6ZQ2d24QQalistZa6Q2ca23718Q2ca25263Q2ca39Q2ca10244Q2ca3801QQcatrefZC3QQcatrefZC6QQcoactionZcompareQQcoentrypageZsearchQQcopagenumZ1QQfclZ3QQfposZQ5AIPQ2fPostalQQfromZR2QQfsooZ2QQfsopZ2QQftrtZ1QQftrvZ1QQgcsZ1400QQpf_queryZ1Q2f16Q20TamiyaQQpfidZ1701QQpfmodeZ1QQreqtypeZ2QQsacatZ44026QQsadisZ200QQsaslcZ2QQsatitleZ1Q2f16Q20TamiyaQQsbrftogZ1QQsofocusZbs

You'll find some great buys on new and gently used R/C armor. I started out with the Tamiya M4 Sherman, and to find out later it's the 'easiest' Tamiya 1/16 R/C to build along with the Tiger I. I also converted the WSN T34-85 to the Tamiya R/C battle system and used it for the very first time at our battle this past Saturday and it worked out great. From what I've heard, the Pershing and King Tiger are a little more time consuming but are also great tanks to build.

It really depends on if you're going to battle the tank or just run it.

Here's a discussion board dedicated to R/C armor:

Hope this all helps!

Hey mate,

I'm getting started in RC as well. This is my list:

- 1:16 Tamiya M26 Pershing (full option kit)
- Graupner MC-10 radio
- Vapaxtech 7.2V 3300mah accu
- Robbe 3 plus charger
- Improved track idler system
- Improved ball bearings

Total amount of money for this thing = about 800 euros

Bought most of the stuff in Germany, saves me about 400 euro :-)

Still a lot of money but hey, you get a lot in return!
