wow, 30$ u.s.d..... i think that speaks for itself.
now, im not complaining about the 1/48th scale... jsut about the price tag that goes with it. i was hoping these would be a little less... expensife?

That seems excessive. Which kit was that expensive? You can get a SkyBow Tiger for less than that.

Hobby Search scale models on-line is selling them for $14.00US. Even with shipping it would be cheaper to order it from Japan. Try some of the other online stores from Japan. Iv'e heard others praise Rainbow Ten.

If you'll notice, it says "MSRP $30 USD". "MSRP" means 'manufacterer's suggested retail price'. Store prices are always much lower. On the other hand, this is Tamiya...

BTW, even at $14 USD, with shipping charges, then exchange, and then duty when it arrives, final cost is going to be around $30. Not to mention the 2 - 3 weeks wait. You just can't win!

This is what it's going for in Japan. This price is a little less than the price of the skybow 1/48 Tiger 1's.

Well, I guess I won't be buying one from Europe anytime soon. When it reaches Spain, it'll be close to 30 Euros. I was particularly annoyed when, in July, I saw the absurd r.r.p. in Britain. It saddens me immensely as this is a kit that I really fancied a crack at... Idiot pricing policy....Jim

Exagerated MSRP's have been the reason for the explosion of mail order and internet hobby shops.
I highly commend searching around on the internet, as there are a number of vendors who can offer you these kits at more reasonable prices. If you can bundel your orders for multiple kits or go in with a friend, the per-unit shipping drops.
My experiences with these vendors has always been good, particularly if you use a major credit card due to the vendors understanding of their need to perform to avoid not being paid under the card companys' customer satisfaction programs. Helps with foreign exchange too.

That price is ridiculous even as a MSRP. Are they nuts? Why would anyone pay that for a small kit when you can get a kit full of AM parts in a larger scale for less money?
If that's the trend in quarter scale pricing, I'm not going to be buying any more kits from Tamiya.
EDIT: just checked greatmodels.com and the frigging thing is $23 AT A DISCOUNT.

Wingsntreads.com has several in for $20 a piece. Both the Mk IV and the M10. I have a standard flat shipping fee of $6 for US customers International I need to determine shipping dependant on where you are. They are not updated on the site yet but if you are interested drop me a line at [email protected]
