Hi fellow builders!
Iīm doing this little vignette as a break from a bigger diorama Iīm working on, and I also wanted to do something wich shows a bit of the bad side of war. Some how it feels like Iīve got a responsibility as modeller to show that...
Anyway, this is how far Iīve got:
Now I have a little bit of a problem, I donīt know wich time of the year it should be Does anybody have an idea? Please comment that and everything else! And also any ideas about more details would pe great.
Thanks for looking
Andreas

Choose autumn or winter. That makes a nice atmosphere and itīs easier to keep that tree clean from any leaves.
Well and for the details Iīd say: just look through your spare parts. Maybe youīll find some weapon or clothes or something like that...

Now I have a little bit of a problem, I donīt know wich time of the year it should be Does anybody have an idea?
I think you mean what year in general this should be, and any year would do...as thousands died every year.
As for the terrain I think you could break it up a bit by adding some tall grass coming out of the snow, and dirtying it up a bit.
Oh, and the helmet looks a bit glossy.

Thanks for comments guys!
Yes of course, itīs far away from finished, havenīt made any groundwork or painting at all yet. And no, I actually ment wich time of the year and I think I decide about autumn. Lots of inspiration outdoors for that now.
More comments are welcome!

Maybe you should add a felow comrade crying and praying for the lost soldier!
Sitted at his knees and saying the last goodbye to his friend!!
Maybe!
Have Fun!!

Well not really!!!
What scale is your vignette?
Maybe you could take a normal soldier cut his legs and remake them so he would kneel!!
Maybe Verliden would have any!!
Sorry i dropped the idea and no answer for it!!

Looks nice. Great idea, gives alot to think about. One suggestion:since the emphasis is placed on the helme and grave, you should detail the helmet with rivets, vent holes, and chinstraps.

Just a thought, but if you want to show the bad side of war, maybe place another cross next to the original with a helmet from an Allies country place on it. The Ultimate Sacrifice doesn't have political boundries.

Thanks for tips everyone! Very nice! The vignette is 1:35, I will put on chinstraps, and rivets if I can come up with a good way how, sculpt them?
Antonio: I take that name! Thanks!

Now that is a very good idea , should have made it a bit bigger. Now it doesnīt fit...
