I was wondering what is the best method to apply decals. Mine always seem to look like
decals and are either glossy in appearence or the outer edges show up when I weather the
model. Any suggestions?

Wipe the area with future. Aply the decal. Then Coat with a matte varnish or a clear flat.
This is the way i usually do it.

I came across this trick completely by accident. What I do is mix a 50/50 solution of white glue and Microset decal setting and softening solution.I wipe the decal area with the solution as the decal is soaking, then slide the decal onto the moist area.Swipe some more solution onto the top of the decal and let it sit fo a few seconds.Wick away any excess and blot any bubbles(I rarely get any)to the edge of the decal and your done.Dullcoat as per usual.I came across this technique because I hated glosscoating those gorgous flats.Give it a try,I swear by it and have not used Glosses for more than lenses and lights.

I have also been using the Future method. But I will definitely give Jon's method a try. I think it will work great on the really flat looking decals (you know, the ones that look silvered even while still on the backing paper

) in some kits.
