hey all, i am gonig to be making in the near future a German Hummel in Normandy, this Vechicle will be put into a Diorama with it behind a rather tall Hedgerow line firing, now the point to my statement is, is that i want to have birds, preferibly sparrows flying out of the trees due to the loud sound of the gun. I have been thinking for a short time on how to make these birds.., if something like these are available on the market, i would like to know where to get them from.

While there' s no picture, half way down this page at http://www.milminwh.com there's a set of three quail. WHile they are larger than the sparrows you want, I have seen the castings and they are excellent.

Contact jackhammer 81 Kevin Garner I put him on to some things for his latest project and picked up some crows for him at my local hobbyshop out of the train section. For the life of me I can't remember the brand names off hand but he should have them.

My thought on getting them airborne is to use the smallest guage guitar string wire. Or very fine hobby wire. You won't need much in the way of distance to creat the illusion of flight.
You may try streatched sprue or look for fiber optic rods like in the funky 'spider' lights you can get at Spencers Gifts.
