Hi folks

Can anyone help me with some information on the inside of a Opel Blitz. What I'm looking for are pics of the insides of the doors, door handles, and any pics of the interior. This would be the last bit of reference for a project I'm working on, and would be a big help.

Thanks guys
Harry

Try doing a search on Ford G917 T. Opel was a Ford subsidiary and the Blitz was just a copy of a Ford model.

John, no clue what version it is. I don't know anything much about axis vehicles, was just trying to help you out. The two pictures that I posted above belong to this vehicle:

and they were borrowed from this site: 2nd Panzer Division

Many thanks Ken, It looks like the Opel Blitz 3 Ton Truck 3,6-36S (but I can't see enough of the bonnet) but its a late version since it has the Einheits Cab. Cheers, John-B

Wow so bare looking inside.

Is that cab made of wood??

I am assuming its late war and made from wood cause of materials shortages?

Cool pics.

Einheits cabs were very basic and rumoured to have been made from hardboard and wood. Built late during the war when metals and other materials were running short. Another way of distinguishing late war construction is by the front wings (mudguards), they were often just one way rolled metal formed arc housings around the wheel, they had no rounded form when viewed from the front.
