Friends---I wish to repliate the glass vision blocks that surround the tank commander's station on my USMC Sherman by Italeri. Is there a color paint that comes close to looking realistic for this task?
thanks

Well, German armoured glass had a green tinge to it in WW2 but I do not know about American.
If you used PE vision blocks, you could cover the openings with Micro crystal clear to make it look like glass...

If you want to just replicate the exterior glass block, either black or a clear green over black with a heavy cote of gloss cote looks pretty good.

I ran into the same problem awhile back. I have tried many things, like those listed.
I now used a high gloss poly, I put it on after I have sealed the paint. It looks real good up close face on it appears to have that green -blue effect, but if you rotate the tanks it appears to be black. Just my 2 cents worth.

Something else you can try if the hatches will be closed, is glueing pieces of old camera film negative. It gives a nice reflective surface and when the interior of a vehicle is dark you dont really notice the greenish tinge to the glass any way.
