This is the KV 1 Mod 1942 with the heavy cast turret.I painted it with the camo scheme as seen on the boxart.
I used Hudson and Allen Slush on it to simulate gunk getting thrown up on it from passing through a snowy ladscape.

Looks very cold and wet. Nice winter effects. My favorite is the wet and muddy tracks

Nice work there.
I got cold just looking at it.
How did you acheive the icy effects?

Now that's cold! Looks like this tank just crossed a snowy river.
Care to share how you did that?

The cold "effect " is the Hudson and Allen "slush".It conmes in a bag as a dry powder.It has a dirty snow look to it.I mixed it with a bit of water,like I do with their "Mud" product.I used a large brush,and slopped it on.Those pictures were taken shortly after application,and before it had totally dried.
This morning,it still had the wet look..
I recommend Hudson and Allen products. (++) (++)

Base coat,MM Russian Armor Green,#2129
White paint,the little square bottle of Testor's flat white,it went on a bit grainy,PERFECT!!!
Mask for the green camo areas.
Black watercolor paint thinned for wash.
Field drab as the dirty mud color.
Hudson and Allen "slush" for the snowy slush effect.
(++) (++)
PS for show purposes,I will take an IMEX display case,and put that white vinyl type wall plaster stuff on as "snow".I will do a little mixed in Hudson and Allen mud on line with the tracks.Not as a dio,but to expand the Kold feeling.
