I don't recall that Dragon makes a Tiger, you meant the jagdtiger? if so Dragon is the way to go.

Or if you talking about Academy's tiger?

Both have problems, It's a matter of which problems you want to correct. I like Academy.

Paulo, I have explained this many times, but have been inadequate, so now I refer people to an article by John Prigent at Missinglinks
http://www.missing-lynx.com/articles/german/jptiger/jptiger.htm

He does better at explaining than I. I did build and like the kit, though.

I would recommend the Academy Tiger. It is just as nice as Tamiya's, but it comes with a full interior for the same price as one of Tamiya (with no interior) or if you don't want to do an interior you can get an Academy Tiger without interior for a good bit less than a Tamiya Tiger.

Lifestyle--You really need to branch out and give other manufacturers a chance. There is a whole world of modeling out there and you are limiting yourself to only one small corner. Might I suggest trying a DML kit or possibly something from Academy, AFV Club, Fine Molds, or Tri-Star. They all make beautiful kits. I'd recommend some of the Eastern European manufacturers, but if all you build is Tamiya you'd probably be really disappointed with them (even though some of them are very good).

Adam makes an excellent point about branching out and trying other model manufacturers; I've built kits from several European manufacturers and learn new aspects about the vehicles I am intersted in ... also makes for better kit bashing opportunites

Hi to all........ like lifestyle Im one who build tamiya kits most of the time......... dissapointed would be a cruel term to use on the excellent kits the big T produces.
I do admit some of their older kits werent that fantastic but most of their recent productions are of much better quality than most other manufacturers like Academy. The only disappointment I have about Tamiya would definitely be their high price but quality does come with a price dont they? Just my 2c worth...........

basturk--I think that you misunderstood my post. I didn't mean that you would be disappointed in Tamiya's kits. I meant that he might be disappointed with the kits form Eastern European companies in comparison with Tamiya because they aren't of the same high standard as Tamiya. The strong point of Eastern European companies is that they make some very interesting vehicles that the main stream manufacturers have ignored. Variety is the spice of life so try another companies products sometime.

Second this, and if you ask me seriously, I pick a DML any day over a Tamiya just for variety and the indi links... (Gee, I said this I think for at least a million times, right? Adam , someone might think I may have some inside interest in the DML venture...)

I wish you did have some inside interest in DML because then maybe you could put in the word with them to rerelease some of their wonderful and hard to find kits such as the M4A1, L/70, L/70(A), etc.

Marder II
The weird Mine Roller vehicle
a nice KV II
a couple of experienmental vehicle based on the Pz IV chasis, the one with removable turret is sort nice.

If you want the "weird mine roller vehicle" ( I assume that you mean the Mineraumer) why not get the new RPM kit? Their products have made a quantum leap in quality in the past few years and I've heard that this kit is very nice.

Hi Adam, This is a proof that if you pray hard enough, something good bound to happen, the following is Trumpeter's new release list in 35 scale:

1/35 scale
Leopold Gun
Karl Morser (both barrels)
KV-1
KV-2

See the KV-II there... And the Krl Morser!!!! Throw in a fat guy and tree, it's like (:-) now!

Dave--Where did you find that new release list? I NEED TO SEE PICTURES OF THE KVs AND I NEED TO SEE THEM NOW. IN FACT, FORGET THE PICTURES, I WANT THE KITS AND I WANT THEM NOW. Oh, bless the Lord, there is a God! A new KV-2 finally. Well, I can finally die a happy man. And to think I almost bought you the Tamiya KV-2 for Christmas, but held off because I wasn't sure if you were asking questions about it because you had it or because you wanted it. If you just wanted it, don't buy it until you see the Trumpeter kit!

Adam, you are too kind, anyway, this KV II is really a god-send, I hope it can come out soon, then we can do another group build....

And the Karl Morser, how big you think it will be in 1/35, I have totally no idea, I just know it will be huge!
