I saw an interesting photo on the cover of a WWII history magazine the other day. It was a Pic of an M10 with a 76mm. I'm assuming this is a field modification however, how comon was this and how difficult would it be to convert the AFV Club or Acadamy M10 to reflect this vehicle? Also does anyone have any pics of this vehicle?

The only "up-gunned" M10 I know of the the British version the "Achilles" That had the 17lber which was a 76.2mm gun Both AFV Club and Academy make those
The regular M10 had a 3 inch gun that was 76mm? It had no muzzle brake

Thanks for the reply. The 17lbr had the rounded muzzel brake and the tube on the 3in gun was smooth. This tube looked like the tube from the M4A3 with the 76mm and the T23(?) turret. I should have picked up the mag.

Do you remember if the gun barrel had on something like a bulb at the end of the barrel? There was an M36B1 TD That had on the M36 TD turret on an M4A3 hull It was armed with a 90mm

This particular picture is of the M36B1 It was a M36 90mm gun and turrent put on a M4A3 sherman chassis because of the supply of M10A1's and M10 chassis that were the base of the M36 and M36B2 respectivly were in short supply and they wanted to get the new gun to the front lines as soon as possible.

Some of the M36 td's had the 90mm gun with no muzzle brake on. Here's a link to one such picture M36 pic
If memory serves me correctly that's one of the options in the Academy M36 kit.

Sorry guy's. My mistake. It looks like an M36 without the muzzle break. It looked like an M10 slick with a 76. I compared the gun mantle. Sorry again, just lookin for unusual stuff for projects....
