Well I've reworked the Noch wild grass with a few tips from you folks. I have started the jungle foilage still have alot of painting to do I just put them in place to make sure that is were I wanted them. There will be a few more Vietnamese soldiers and a girl with bicycle. I have not decided if I will use the GI's shone in the pictures but that is how I plan to have them positioned.

I like it, but maybe a few more tracks in the road, thats just my personal preference.

How about adding some small rocks scattered about. I just go to the curb or sidewalks and scoop up some small ones

Nice layout and nice update. I like it so far.
One thing I would do is to paint quite a bit of the "fish tank" foliage. Use some washes to add layers or color. Also add some veins and highlights.

I'm sorry I missed the earlier posts Keenan. Nice ambush scene. If there's still a chance you can add something I was thinking perhaps more litter (dried leaves, twigs) to fill up the spaces in between your plants. There usually is a fair bit of ground litter even in drier areas of the jungle.
Nice touch by having the vine. A fair variety of vege too.
Maybe you may want to consider adding some ruts made by tyres giving the impression the road is fairly frequented. Adding some grass to the road center may help give the impression of a rut too and can be done without having to pull out the vehicle if its stuck.
Coming along very nicely.

Thanks for looking CK. On the jungle Im not even close to being finished on the vegetation and litter I have a reference pic that Im using alot of more plants to be added. As for the ruts in the road threr are some but just for the truck I would have to nearly redo the road to get any more ruts although I might try the grass method you mentioned. Although a heavy rain will sometimes wash any sign of ruts away. And this would be the first truck through after the rain. Maybe this excuse will work :-) :-). Glad you to the time to reply more to come later.

Rather than messing up the road the grass in the middle of the road should give a fair impression of a used country road. Not a very good pic but as you can see the middle of the jungle road has more or less a line of grass that has avoided been ground down by being in the middle of the road. We get a fair bit of these kind of roads here in the plantations where the roads are not sealed especially in roads less travelled.
Hope that will help.

I would put the rocks along the edge of the road and in the grass. Use your imagination
