I am going to do a dio that involves a Tiger on a flatbed car and I need help with the following:

-What were Tigers shipped to the front with (what tools, spare tracks, gas cans, spare road wheels, etc)?

-Pics of train flatbed cars Tigers were shipped on. I figure that I will need to scratch build the flatbed so if anyone can steer me in the right direction for a reference that has lots of pics, that would be great.

-Pics of Tigers on flatbed car so I can get an idea of how they were tied down.

Thanks in advance.

Cheers

Contact Jose here:

http://www.tigerdio.com/

His line includes the Tiger I rail transport cars done in resin by Tank Workshop. Don't scratchbuild, just buy Jose's kit.

From what I've seen, you'd almost definately have the combat tracks and outer road wheels on the flat car. You also have to get the 80 ton SSYMS flat car, which has three axles per bogie. Other flat cars would not be up to the job. I've seen these cars with two Pz IVs on, which could be fun in a mixed dio build.

The only kits I've seen for these are a bit pricey. ADV/Azimut/Ironside make one which may be injection. Prod No 35012. Maybe scratch building is the way ahead.
