ok ok. so i started getting into dioramas a few years ago, then stopped for a few years, and the article by slodder got me right back into it. i'm working in 1:32 scale with a 21st century 32x figure as my main measurement. now he measures six cm which is 2.25 inches and on the scale calculator is about 6 ft tall. so lets say the average guy is 6 ft tall and feet roughly converts to cm. now i'm not huge on making it exactly to scale, but i'm wondering about the height of doorways, floors, and width of the front of my building. i'm starting with a type of storefront with a lower floor of a doorway, horizantal shop window, and the second floor is just house type windows. but i'm not sure how wide is accurate for the era. a 16 foot wide building would be only 6 inches. So can anyone help me out with some general dimensions and perhaps point me to a good source of wwII european building or city photos? google image search just doesnt do it. thanks alot!

Standard door is 7' high by 33" wide. Ceiling is 8' in newer buildings, higher in older ones. Windows can be any size, just don't make them too big as to overpower the building. Any size can be accurate for a building in width, depends on how big or small you want it.
Check the referance photos in the gallery here. Someone posted a series of European city pics that are just what you are looking for.

Try to get hold of Model Buildings Masterclass by
Roy Porter, It's an excellent book full of scratchbuilding techniques and a lot of the dioramas are in 1/32 scale. There is IIRC even a page devoted to the scale of doorways
