Hi Gang,

Does anyone know any company sell 1/35 (or close) sunflowers? If I had to build them from scratch, what's a good method to do so?

I thank you for your help!!

Sunflowers

I don't know how large these are but their "HO" mushrooms are a good scale for our purposes

Hi Al,

Yeah these looks great! Perhaps a little on the small side. If I give plenty water and sunshine do you think they will grow up to 1/35 scale? :-)

I'm sorry, I've been up all night sniffing glue and push projects.

Thanks Al

Letsee... $100 USD for a superdetailed tank.
$20 USD for necessary paint.
$20 USD for a set of resin tank crew.
$5 USD for the base.
$600 USD for a andrea sun flower field.

Seeing the dio result... bankruptcy! :-)

Ouchy! So far the Busch kit seems most practical. Anyone have the total length measurement on the Busch flower?

The Busch sunflower set is HO model railroad scale, so you can figure they're quite small- too small for any 1/35 scale diorama.

Even a small sunflower field can be very costly. I suggest going to the local dollar store and checking out any suitable sized artificial flowers ( I've never found any dried flowers of the right size and shape). A few dollars should yield dozens of flowers. Use a 1/4" paper punch to make new seed 'disks' from a medium to course grit sandpaper, painted brown, and glued in the center. Keep in mind that the visible portion of the petals should be slightly greater than the radius of the seed disk, in this case, 1/8", and there are at least two rows of petals, one set over the other. Stalks can be made from thick wire, or solder (solder is easier to bend), and textured with white glue. Leaves can either be cut from paper, or cut from other types of artificial or dried flowers. This is more time consuming than buying ready-made flowers, but costs far less.
