I have been asked to build a model of this HMMV. It is being used in Iraq for convoy security duty. The Platoon leader asked to have it built and displayed at the Transportation Museum. The vehicle is called the Zebra (formerly called the Raptor) They painted it in a zebra stripe design with black flames on the hood. It has since been repainted to standard sand color. I have been told that this trucks crew has been awarded more medals that any other crew in country. It has also seen more action than most of the other convoy security vehicles in country.

Thanks for the info Gino.
They did? Does it look like this top on this vehicle?

Dave, I've got some interior/exterior photos of the helmet hard top in my motor pool gallery. It is still in its unpainted fiberglass state.

Thanks Rob, but I can't find the photos. I went to your motor pool album and hardtop album is empty.
I really could use them if you have them someplace else.

Sure does, same helmet hard top.

Actually, I guess it is a Pro-Art Models product, being carried by Blast.

Thanks Harald. I was going to try to scratch build the top, but I think that I will just try to order one of the conversions. I think it will make the model more convincing. I can modify the top for a 50 gun mount.
