I am currently looking at buying either of theses kits. Any ideas which is better value for money? I heard that ACADEMY's is quite a good one ...

I have never built the DML/ Dragon version but the Academy kit is pretty good, a straight forward build and it "looks" the part. Neither kit is 100% correct, if you want a really good rivet counting reveiw try this..

I had a few big probelms with it. It may count because it was from a sparebox, but without that it has a few problems with it. The turret wasn't any problem at all. But the lower hull have a few problems.

It was a nice kit to build. I have no idea how the Dragon kit is.

Both kits will build up into a reasonable kit. If I had to choose I would choose the Academy as teh way to go. there are a number of articles on teh web cocerning just your question. There was also a comparison article a number of years ago in MMiR.

If you decide to build the Academy version, ( I did, and was quite happy with the result), and you want to fancy her up a bit, just let me know....
I have several turrets in stash, all from the DML kits, the M-51 and the M-50 turret, so if you want you can make an unique model.

thanks for the infos. I think I'm gonna go for the Academy kit. DML Shermans are more of a paint to build ... besides, I just crashed my "old" Academy M51, so I kind know it ....
