Hope everyones still working away,
I'm still trying to put my LVT (A) 1 into a dio setting and am now cornered into doing it as you can see. The LVT coming to the aid of a knocked out sherman.
I wanted the water to be alittle deeper but at $12 for a 8 oz water and having already used up 7 mixs I think I'll just work with what I got. I can't find that 5 or 8 min appoxy anywhere. Another gallon should do it. :-)
I still have to paint up the tankers, and add a little more wave and churning water. I also have to cut out the trim.
And also some more work on the tank and some loose items.
Still hope to finish it up soon.
Thanks for your time.
Good luck to all who are still working,
Bob

Vehicles look great. I like the idea, but agree that the water needs to be deeper. With the water that shallow, knee to waist deep at most, why wouldn't the Sherman crew simply jump off and walk/wade in? May be too late now, but for future water scenes, it is best to cut the bottom off the hull off the vehice till you get it about as deep as you want it, then you only need a thin layer of "water", (about 1/8") to complete the scene.
That is how I did my USMC M1A1HC wading ashore.
Sorry, bad pic and angle, but the "water" is halfway up the side skirts in the front and deeper in the rear. It is only about 1/8" thick though.

Hi Bob,
That is a stunning diorama! I like the water like it is very much and it gives a great effect! What did you used for it?
The whole scene is full of life and motion, it's very convincing! Great work!

I don't care how shallow that water is, if it's over the top of my boots I'm not getting my feet wet!!

I think it looks great . i love the water effects.
Just my opinion regarding the depth of the water and the crew sitting on there sherman, from the relaxed poses of the tankers they appear in no imediate danger (unless the tide comes rushing in ) , plus would they abandon there vehicle with all there personel gear onboard if it could be avoided?

Thanks guys for the comments and suggestions.
I never thought about cutting off the model, I had enough of a problem just putting it in the water after so much work. :-)
For the water I used releastic water sold at Wal-mart flower section. It only makes an 8 oz. bottle of water at about $12 per bottle. Thats why I wish I could find some of that 8 min epoxy.
Thanks for looking,
Bob
