This is my entry for the Amphib Campaign. It is the Tamiya Ford GPA. It is pretty much straight out of the box. I added some extra stowage and camo nets. The base is baked clay and expoxy for the water. The obstacle is from Tamiya and the sandbags on the ground is made out of gum with the candy shell removed.

Brilliant! Love the finish. It's a damn shame you've pu it on the base already, it would have been a great contender for the Armour Model of the Month!
Great Job!

Very nice indeed, looks suitably wet to just have come out of the water. One little thing, I would add some mud/wet sand on the tyres, not to much, but just a little.
Cheers

Doesn't look as if the bottom of the GPA is wet. That's about the only thing I can see.

Ryan, you did an excellent job on the seep.....
I do agree with Vinnie, as it would be an excellent contender in the MOM .....
As for the base..... a rather nice job there also, I agree a little sand/wetness on the tires, and lower areas would enhance the appearance. Also....... you should think about some foot prints in the sand showing the absence of the driver. As it is, ......... how did he leave the vehicle????

A round landed nearby and the occupants left in such a hurry that they jumped clear off the base. :-) :-) :-)
Great job, Ryan.

Thanks for all the kind words and suggestions. As far as adding a figure, well figure painting has always been my weak point. I feel that I can't do them justice and it would hurt the overall appearance rather than help it. I guess I will just buy some figures and work on them until I get it right. I have shyed away from several diorama ideas due to the fact that I can't paint figures well. Anyways thanks again for the kind words.
I will work on adding some sand and mud as well.
Cheers,
Ryan

DO THE FIGURES!!!! I'm doing this kit as well for amphibs and you don't want me to kick yer butt in presentation just because i was brave enough to attempt the figgies, do you???? hehe seriously, tho! paint the guy's uniforms what they should be, then do the faces in a skin color. just try that little bit and it will make a real difference. if you feel braver, attempt the lips, eyes. All my figgies looked like zombies when i first tried them, and they STILL do, somewhat - but i will not be conquered by little plastic men! I will do them until they are as best as I can make them.
cheers! (ps i really like your GPA)

I agree with the others about doing the figure(s). I think you will find a lot of people can't do great figures but still dare to add them to the scenes. Besides if you don't do a few figures that get blasted you'll never improve.
