Just picked up this kit from my local hobby shop today. I paid $19.00 after a price reduction from $22.00. Is this a good price? When I open the box I was surprised at the great packaging and the amount of included detail all the way dow to the pre-made wire tow cables. I cant wait to see how it looks when done. I will not be able to build it to the quality that I see here from others, but, I get the most pleasure of just putting the thing together and making it reasonably good. I also saw some of the Dragon Tiger kits at the same shop with the prices ranging from $22.00-$35.00 depending on the kit.

I just got the same kit a couple of days ago. I paid a little less on ebay so you got a real good price. I plan on using the MM Russian green color, but will probably add a some MM medium green to fade it out a bit

this is a very nice kit, build it last week and goes together just fine.one thing is tricky;the sprocket wheels, dont put them to close to the hull, use a piece of track to line them out.otherwise your tracks will hit the hull at the backside you got a good price, and the color you want to use is just fine to here is a pic of my buildhave fun with this one

I will agree that these Trumpeter KV kits are excellent kits, and are a great value for the money. I highly recommend them.

I have this one, the KV-1 M1942 cast turret (#0359). As with all the Trumpeter KV kits, they designed them in a way that they can manufacture several versions of KV tanks with common parts to each kit. Each kit has parts that make that kit unique, and a couple of them have parts to make another version than the box art depicts.

As you can see from Jeroen's KV-1 M1942 cast turret, the kit builds up very nice, right out of the box.

Hmm. Maybe we need a group build (campaign) here on Armorama, devoted to the Trumpeter KV kit series

We still have at least 2 more KV kits coming out from them as well.......hehe

Cheers !!

Jazza,

I used to go to the same shop about 20 years ago when i first started building armor. The kits were expensive at that time to me. I see the online prices now and realize that the shops prices are not too bad at all. I thought this place was going out of business awhile back and selling everything at clearance prices just to get rid of it. the last time i went in their supply of planes, armor and ships had at least doubled. So far no sign of them closing shop. I just wish that they carried more in the way of paints and supplies-which i usually have to get online.
