Hi
I am looking for a good reference book on the Panzer 1. Specifically, I would like close-up shots as opposed to overall views. You see, I have recently purchased the Aber set for the Panzer 1 and the instructions are somewhat vague in places so reference material would be usefull in determining the appropriate placement of pieces.
As always, thanks for the help,
Andrew

Did some thinking, and you are more than welcome to borrow the book. Finish your project then return it. No big deal on this end. Will do what ever I can to help a fellow modeler.

Andrew,
I can recommend the new Panzertracts book on the Panzer I. This book has details of the entire development of the Panzer I.
The book should be available at -
http://panzertracts1.tripod.com/
I bought the book when I picked up the Tristar kit.. figured I could use a reference since this tank is not covered much in the 100+ other books that I already owned
Let me know if I can help out here.

Thanks for the reply Tankshack,
how was the book anyway. Worth the price?
Also, were there good close-up pictures of the tank itself.
Thanks,
Andrew

The book is very good in terms of content. The book contains a lot of drawings, tables, photos and details. I'd say that it's an 8.5/10 in terms of value. The minus is the price to size and format. At $30, one might expect hardback or maybe a little color. Don't get me wrong, it's a really good reference, probably THE reference on the little Panzer; however, they just release volume two and now... I just "have to" get another one ...
I know that you'll enjoy it if you get a copy.

I purchased "German Light Panzers 1932-1942" the other day. It is a decent book. Doesn't have a lot of close-ups but there are photographs that I would consider good reference. There are some nice color plates that show different paint/marking schemes and a two page cut-away illustration that is real nice.
It is published by Osprey Military and is #26 in their NEW VANGUARD series. I paid $12.95 + tax at a local Hobby Town. ISBN 1-85532-844-5.

Is the cutaway for the Panzer 1 or the Panzer 2?
Thanks,
Andrew
