Externally, none. The AIM is simply a rebuilt M1A1HC. AIM stands for Abrams Integrated Management program, a.k.a. depot level rebuild. If the M1A1HC is up to the latest MWOs (Material Work Order, added/modified pieces parts), they are the same. Latest external MWOs include; EPLRS antenna mount on right rear corner of turret, power junction box and conduit for turret bustle APU, power junction box next to man-hole cover on turret left front, and PLGR antenna mount on right side of turret near the GPS unit.
On the inside, there are some new electronics and digital commo gear that it shares with the M1A2 so that they can talk. The fire control computer is also an upgraded version.

An exception to this will be the Aussie AIMs. They are getting non-HA (depleted uranium armored) Abrams tanks. Their AIMs will not be rebuilt M1A1HCs, but original M1A1s rebuilt to AIM standards.
