Hi, Been working on and off for the last couple of weeks on slowly building Dragon's new Panzer IV kit and I am truly amazed at the amount and quality of the details that are in it. Really. A lot of the time I find myself just sitting back and merely looking at all the super fine details that Dragon has put into this kit for us . (It took me three days to get up the desire just to add the outer covers to the drivers and seal up all that beautiful gear-work inside.)

Yes, I know there are some modelers on a couple other sites that are trashing this thing for it's dimensions and other such items, but to me, just an average builder, I fine it quite exciting and a real 'gem' of a kit to build.

So far everything fits up just as snug and tight as it is suppose to do and with just a tad bit of filler here and there in a couple of very minor places.

Photos of this kit, or the specific parts of it, can't really do the justice that it deserves.

About the only real think I don't care for is the "Magic Track" system, but I think that this is more of a personal item than anything bad about this part of the kit. (What can I say, I just love the Fruilmodel stuff.) And if you want to show the model in some kind of a display with it going over rubble, branches, R.R. tracks, etc. thus showing it's moveable suspension system, I would have to imagine that this is just about the only way you could do it successfully.

I found an old R & J Pz. IV resin interior piece in the spares box to add to the inside front area so I can leave the inspection hatches open; and also a resin motot/radiator set as well to put in the back, so I can leave one of the rear doors open too. It's my hope to be able to use and old Dragon heavy railway transport car kit to mount the whole thing on when I ever get it all up and done.

So even if you aren't really a German armor fan I think it is well worth the money spent to get at least one of these kits to fool around with if for no other reason than just to admire all the almost 1,000 molded parts that make up this model. I can't recommend it too highly.

Take care, Sgirty

Just got email notification that my Panzer IV is on it's way from Sprue Brothers. I've been slowly working on the Tristar Panzer IV, so I'm interested to compare the two.
