Yes they are, they are "grousers" that are pounded in, in lieu of trackpads. I don't know the frequency within a length of track that they are installed on a Leo 2, though, perhaps someone more knowledgeable of this cat can add to it.

PS- They're called grousers in Canada, anyway, and we use them on our M113s and Leopard 1s.

Hi,
if I'm correct, the frequency is 1 grouser each 8 links.
We have the same system for the Leclerc MBT even if I never saw this installed (like the schnorchel and the extra fuel drums).
