OK here goes...I've found that the early Tiger TO&E had 2 Tigers and 2 PzKpw III per platoon. What I am looking to do is:
a: units involved on the eastern front (with Tigers obviously)
b: Russian armor variants encountered at this point in time
c: German engineer equipment to clear heavy wrecks off the road.
Thank you in advance!!!!

Summer of '42? The Tiger I was first fielded in August of '42 with sPzAbt 502. Only four vehicles on the Leningrad front. You're kinda in luck b/c the DML Initial Tiger deals with these (albeit the decals show the winter '42 configuration).
When first fielded, everthing was experimental. They would have opposed T34s and KV1s I'd assume.
Heavy trucks would have been their wrecking equipment: Faun L900s maybe.

Shain~
...interesting to note that despite the obviously damp and muddy road surface, neither the tank nor it's tracks are noticeably caked-up. An excellent picture for sharing.
I've seen several dios depicting similar scenes where the tank is lugging along an extra ton or so of mud on it's hull and tread assembly.
Great photo.

Faun L900? Must admit I haven't heard of that. I'll google that one.
Should I perhaps be leaning towards spring '43?
The research I've gotten so far is from www.fprado.com and it seems to be right on, but I know there are folks out here with much more to add.
