Heres how i build my dragon Tiger magic tracks.

start off with 30 links ready to be glued together.

now that we have made a run of 30 links, make 2 more runs of 30 and a small run of 6.30+30+30+6=96.

so now to glue the the links together to make one run,set aside so the poly glue dryes a bit.
now we have the two tracks made up,its time to prime them.after that you can paint them in the usual colour you paint your tracks.i use a mix of Metallic Grey and flat black adding a little hull red.

now the tracks are painted,i use a metallic silver pencil and rub along the tracks to simulate were the tracks meet the road.

one done the other to do.

so after i have applyed the silver i can now start to weather the tracks.i applyed a black wash, when that had dryed i brushed on gulf war sand mig powders, rubbing it in the links and blowing the loose powder off.

now i can begin to add them to the tank, first feed the track starting at the back idle wheel and push it all the way to the drive wheel.make sure you have an equal amount of track at both ends.now i take a hair dryer and warm up the tracks so they start to bend, once the glue starts to soften rap the track around rear wheel and the same to the drive wheel, with a bit of luck the 2 ends meet in the middle.now i take some super glue and glue both ends of the track together.

now to make the sag, using the hairdryer heat up the front part of the track and it starts to bend covering the first road wheel, then just hold the track down for a few mins so it cools down.
Thats it,heres the final result.

all done in one nights work
cheers karl

that is very nicely done indeed! Love the subtle weathering you did on it.

I must be so spoilt by Tamiya as glueing tracks together is as fun as painting wheels to me...something i dont exactly enjoy.

Did you enjoy it at all?

I like the method.I do almost the same with non magic/indy links. To get the good sag,I will stuff some tisue paper in the area above the track,to gently force it down. (++) (++)

Not really had any experience in indi tracks, the total of 96 is for only one side, right? (Just a little confused) :-) Great method, this will definately help for when I get to my Tiger!

What type/brand of glue did you use? Is there a preferred location for the small run of 6 links? Great technique! I hope I can get the same results.

That looks great

Did you mention anything about painting and weathering the tank before? I don't recall seeing anything about it on here because that looks real cool...I think it's interesting that you happen to have the older Tamiya Tiger I Ausf Afrika there in the background lol ...at least, I believe that's what that kit back there is

...as if...

There is a slight chance that those photos can be recovered, and I will not rest until than. Nor snow or rain can stop me. Or is that the postal services? #:-)
