ok I have been away for while but I have been on my modeling . Well the question is I am doing am M1 abrams splashing through a big mud puddle but can not get the splash effect that I want . The splash should be pushing forward and up. any helpful insights would be greatful. It is not rolling over the the front but when it first hits.

Perhaps this might help from my model railroading days.

Some folks like to model water spilling out of the round concrete culverts into a stream, river, etc. They model this falling water by (1) taking a small thin wire and bending it in the shape of the water flow, (2) placing the curved wire between the culvert and the river, (3) slowly build layers around the wire using the clear latex tube caulk you get at a home centers, and (4) painting your shaped water flow (effectively covering over the wire and clear caulk).

In your instance (and I'm not saying this would be easy), but I'd take a number of thin wires, embed them in your base, and form the wires into the basic shape of your "big splash", then proceed to build up the clear caulk around the wires. Paint muddy brown.

Fine Scale Modeler had an article about a Personel Carrier that was splashing into a river. You may want to see if you can get your hands on that. I wish I could give you the month, I'd say it was about 6 months ago or so.

Basically the way they did it was to slowly add layers of two part epoxy resin to build up splashes. One key is to wait till it gets tacky, then you can mold it a bit better and it will stay where put.

yeah I read the artical that you are talking about but I am looking for a diffrent look. The water or should I say muddy very muddy water is basiclly blowing out from the A1. But I like the wire idea so I will try it and mess around with it. thanks and keep'em comming.
